1 Times Table

In 1 times table we will learn how to read and write multiplication table of 1.


We read one times table as:

One time one is 1

Two times one is 2

Three times one is 3

Four times one is 4

Five times one is 5

Six times one is 6

Seven times one is 7

Eight times one is 8

Nine times one is 9

Ten times one is 10

Eleven times one is 11

Twelve times one is 12


We write 1 times table as:

1 × 1 = 1

2 × 1 = 2

3 × 1 = 3

4 × 1 = 4

5 × 1 = 5

6 × 1 = 6

7 × 1 = 7

8 × 1 = 8

9 × 1 = 9

10 × 1 = 10

11 × 1 = 11

12 × 1 = 12

Answer:

1. (i) 1 more than 32 = 33 × 1

(ii) 3 times 1 = 3

(iii) 1 times 12 = 12

(iv) 1 less than 21 = 20 × 1

(v) 7 times 1 = 7

2. What is 1 + 1 + 1 + 1?

Answer: 1 × 4 = 4


3. How many tails do 12 cats have?

Solution:

No. of tails 1 cat has = 1

No. of cats = 12

Therefore, total no. of tails 12 cats have = 12 × 1

Answer: There will be 12 tails for 12 cats.

4. In a class II there are 50 students, each student got 1 chocolate. How many chocolates were distributed in total?

Solution:

No of students in class II = 50

No. of chocolates each student got = 1

Therefore, total no. of chocolates = 50 × 1 = 50 [using 1 times table]

Answer: There will be 50 chocolates distributed in class II

5. How many beaks do 39 crows have?

Solution:

No. of crows = 39

No. of beaks = 1

Therefore, total no. of beaks for 39 crows = 39 × 1 = 39 [using 1 times table]

Answer: There will be 39 beaks for 39 crows.
