Worksheet on Multiplying Monomial and Binomial

Practice the questions given in the worksheet on multiplying monomial and binomial. The questions are based on multiplication of a binomial by a monomial and multiplication of a monomial by a binomial.

1. Multiply a binomial by a monomial:

(i) (x + y) by xy

(ii) (4xy – 3x) by 2xy

(iii) (5ab + 2b) by 2ab

(iv) (2x + 6y) by 5xy

(v) (2xy + 5xz) by xyz

(vi) (-3xy2 + 5x2y) by 2xy

(vii) (-a – b) by (-ab)

(viii) (-x2y - 3x2y2) by 2x2y

(ix) (-3ab2 + 4a2b) by (-ab)

(x) (2abc + 3ac) by (-2a2b)

2. Multiply a monomial by a binomial:

(i) 4xy × (2xy + 3)

(ii) (-2xy) × (x + y2)

(iii) 2x2y3 × (x + y)

(iv) abc × (a2b2 + b2c2)

(v) (-5acb) × (a + b)

(vi) 10abc2 × (b + c)

(vii) 8xyz × (xyz – 2x2y2z2)

(viii) (-10mn2) × (5m – 3n)

(ix) p2 × (7pq – 8r)

(x) (1/6)a × (3a + 4ab)

3. Find the product of:

(i) a(1 + a2)

(ii) (-x2) (1 – x)

(iii) 2m2(5m + 3n)

(iv) a2b(a2 + b2c)

(v) (-12xyz) (3xy + 4yz)

(vi) (-3pq) (p – q)
