Backward Counting


In backward counting we need to count down.

Let’s start counting backward; see the below picture

Counting down from 10 to 1 with numbers:

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Counting down from ten to one with words:

Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One.



The numbers and words are count down from ten to one.

Ten – 10

Nine - 9

Eight - 8

Seven - 7

Six - 6

Five - 5

Four - 4

Three - 3

Two - 2

One - 1





Fill in the blanks:

(i) 10, ….., ……., 7, ………, ………., 4, ………, 2, ……… .

(ii) ……., 7, ………, ………., 4, ………, 2, ……… .

(iii) 9, ……., ………,6, ………., 4, ………, 2, ……… .
