25 Times Table Trick:

The 25 times table has an easy pattern that can help you find answers quickly. Since 25 × 4 = 100, you can use 100 and divide by 4 to multiply a number by 25.

Trick I: Multiply by 100 and Divide by 4

To multiply a number by 25:

Number × 25 = Number × 100 ÷ 4

For example:

  • 6 × 25 = 600 ÷ 4 = 150
  • 8 × 25 = 800 ÷ 4 = 200
  • 12 × 25 = 1,200 ÷ 4 = 300
  • 16 × 25 = 1,600 ÷ 4 = 400
  • 20 × 25 = 2,000 ÷ 4 = 500

This is a useful shortcut when you need to multiply larger numbers by 25.

Trick II: Count by 25

Another easy way to learn the 25 multiplication table is to count forward by 25:

25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250

Each number is 25 more than the previous number.

For example:

25 × 7 = 175

because:

25 → 50 → 75 → 100 → 125 → 150 → 175

Trick III: Remember the Last Two Digits

The products of the 25 times table have a simple ending pattern:

25, 50, 75, 00

For example:

  • 25 × 1 = 25
  • 25 × 2 = 50
  • 25 × 3 = 75
  • 25 × 4 = 100
  • 25 × 5 = 125
  • 25 × 6 = 150
  • 25 × 7 = 175
  • 25 × 8 = 200

Remembering this pattern makes it easier to recall the 25 times table.
