Worksheet on Addition of Decimal Fractions

We will practice the questions given in the worksheet on addition of decimal fractions. While adding the decimal numbers convert them into like decimal then add as usual ignoring decimal point and then put the decimal point in the sum directly under the decimal points of all the decimals.

(iv) 35.280 l + 42.500 l + 8.700 l + 15 l


4. Solve the given statements:

(i) 36.83 more than 16.1

(ii) Increase 7.86 by 1.209

(iii) 52.88 more than 14.76

(iv) Add 45 to 0.007


5. Word problems on addition of decimals:

(i) Peter has three iron rods of length 5.72 m, 8.9 m and 7.78 m. What is the total length of the three rods?

(ii) Ron bought a book for $ 36.25, a pen for $ 9.50 and a ruler for $ 3.75. How much money did he spend in all?

(iii) The rainfall in the city on the last three days, of a month was recorder 6.35 cm, 7.55 cm and 4.75 cm respectively. How much did it rain in all?

(iv) A man earned $ 55.25 on the first day, $ 60.75 on the second day and $ 57.50 on the third day. How much money did he earn in three days?
