Multiplication Table of 11
Repeated addition by 11’s means the multiplication table of 11.
(i) When 5 bunches of 11 apples each.
By repeated addition we can show 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 = 55
Then, eleven 5 times or 5 elevens
5 × 11 = 55
Therefore, there are 55 apples.
(ii) When 11 bowls of eleven balls each.
By repeated addition we can show 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 + 11 = 121
Then, eleven 11 times or 11 elevens
11 × 11 = 121
Therefore, there are 121 balls.
We will learn how to use the number line for counting the multiplication table of 11.
(i) Start at 0. Hop 11, three times. Stop at 33.
3 elevens are 33 3 × 11 = 33
(ii) Start at 0. Hop 11, seven times.
Stop at ____. Thus, it will be 77
7 elevens are 77 7 × 11 = 77
(iii) Start at 0. Hop 11, twelve times.
Stop at ____. Thus, it will be 132
12 elevens are 132 12 × 11 = 132
