4. (i) If x + y = 10 and xy = 15, find the value of x2 + y2

(ii) If x2 + y2 = 29 and xy = 10, find the value of x + y


5. If x + 1/x = 5, find x2 + 1/x2

6. If x2 + 1/x2 = 14, find x + 1/x

7. If x + 1/x = 3, find the value of x4 + 1/x4

8. What must be added to 49y2 + 70xy to make it a perfect square?

9. What must be subtracted to 4x2 + 9y2 to make it a perfect square?

10. (i) (2x + 5y)2

(ii) (x + 1/3)2
