Worksheet on Reflection in x-axis

Practice the questions given in the worksheet on reflection in x-axis. The questions are based on how to find the co-ordinates of the image of a point under reflection in x-axis.

1. Find the reflection of the following in x-axis.

(i) (-2, -6)

(ii) (1, 7)

(iii) (-3, 1)

(iv) (5, -9)

(v) (2, -2)

2. Draw a quadrilateral ABCD where A (1, 1); B (1, 4); C (3, 3) and D (3, 2). Now reflect the quadrilateral in x-axis. Write down the co-ordinates of A'B'C'D'.

3. Find the co-ordinates of the following point when reflected in x-axis.

(i) P (3, 7)

(ii) Q (2, -5)

(iii) R (-3, 1)

(iv) S (-7, -4)

4. Draw a triangle ABC on the graph paper whose co-ordinates are A (-2, 5), B (-3, -1), C (-1, 2) and reflect this triangle in x-axis to ∆A'B'C'. Find the co-ordinates of the vertices of the triangle A'B'C'.

5. Draw the image of the line segment AB reflected in x-axis whose co-ordinates are A (-2, 3) and B (3, 4).

Answers for the worksheet on reflection in x-axis are given below to check the exact answers of the above questions on reflection of a point in the x-axis.
