Worksheet on Addition of Length

Practice the third grade math worksheet on addition of length. This sheet provides different types of questions where you need to arrange the values of length under different columns to find their sum; adding length with conversion; adding length by converting km into m; arrange the values of length without conversion under different columns to find their sum; add the values arranged under the units m, dm and cm under different columns and word problems on addition of length.

Solved Example:

Add 2 m 20 cm and 4 m 50 cm.

Solution:

          m     cm

          2      2 0

      +  4     5 0

          6     7 0

Add centimetres first and then the metres.

Therefore, 2 m 20 cm + 4 m 50 cm = 6 m 70 cm.

1. Add the following:

(i) 51 m 17 cm + 15 m 71 cm

(ii) 18 m 05 cm + 16 m 27 cm

(iii) 76 m 18 cm + 10 m 30 cm

(iv) 74 m 83 cm + 31 m 33 cm

(v) 85 m 86 cm + 20 m 21 cm

(vi) 46 m 86 cm + 55 m 58 cm

(vii) 15 m 75 cm + 80 m 85 cm + 10 m 63 cm

(viii) 58 m 30 cm + 3 m 96 cm + 16 m 36 cm

(ix) 16 m 35 cm + 5 m 90 cm + 7 m 09 cm

2. Add with conversion:

(i) 35 m 45 cm and 50 m 54 cm

(ii) 62 m 08 cm and 37 m 37 cm

(iii) 51 m 64 cm and 26 m 23 cm

3. Add by converting km into m:

(i) 4 km 230 m and 3 km 87 m

(ii) 53 km 5 m and 23 km 78 m

(iii) 91 km 92 m, 14 km 120 m and 21 km 210 m

(iv) 71 km 70 m, 15 km 275 m and 23 km 425 m

(v) 73 km 729 m and 82 km 171 m

4. Add the following without conversion:

(i) 15 km 825 m + 45 km 265 m

(ii) 54 km 256 m + 31 km 834 m

(iii) 59 km 784 m + 46 km 931 m

(iv) 22 km 384 m + 36 km 057 m

(v) 86 km 078 m + 12 km 003 m

(vi) 85 km 125 m + 31 km 243 m

(vii) 12 km 372 m 15 cm + 18 km 273 m 65 cm

(viii) 3 km 700 m 25 cm + 9 km 125 m 30 cm

(ix) 4 km 931 m 92 cm + 15 km 273 m 23 cm

(xi) 317 km 082 m + 13 km 670 m + 90 km 500 m

(xii) 22 km 172 m + 26 km 900 m + 14 km 818 m

5. Add the following:

(i) 25 m 5 dm 3 cm + 15 m 7 dm 5 cm
