Worksheet on Number in Expanded Form

Practice the questions given in the worksheet on number in expanded form. Expanded form of a number is to break down each digit and write the number to show how each digit in the number represents different values.

We can learn expanded form of a number in the following ways:

(i) if we write the number in words.

(ii) if we arrange the digits in a place value.


1. Name the hundreds, tens and ones for each number in both ways:

For example:

145 = 1 hundreds + 4 tens + 5 ones

      = 100 + 40 + 5
