Conversion of Hours into Seconds

We will discuss here about the conversion of hours into seconds. We know 1 hour is equal to 3600 seconds, which is required to convert the measuring time from hours to seconds.


Solved examples:

1. Convert 6 hours into seconds.

First, we convert hours into minutes and then minutes into seconds.

6 hours = (6 × 60) minutes (1 hour = 60 minutes)

           = 360 minutes

           = (360 × 60) seconds (1 minutes = 60 seconds)

           = 21600 seconds

2. Convert 19 hours into seconds.

First, we convert hours into minutes and then minutes into seconds.

19 hours = (19 × 60) minutes (1 hour = 60 minutes)

             = 1140 minutes

             = (1140 × 60) seconds (1 minutes = 60 seconds)

             = 68400 seconds



3. Convert 60 hours into seconds.

First, we convert hours into minutes and then minutes into seconds.

60 hours = (60 × 60) minutes (1 hour = 60 minutes)

             = 3600 minutes

             = (3600 × 60) seconds (1 minute = 60 seconds)

             = 216000 seconds.



4. Convert 8 hours into seconds.

First, we convert hours into minutes and then minutes into seconds.

8 hours = (8 × 60) minutes (1 hour = 60 minutes)

           = 480 minutes

           = (480 × 60) seconds (1 minute = 60 seconds)

           = 28800 seconds.
