More Examples:

18 ones = 1 ten + 8 ones

14 ones = 1 ten + 4 ones

3 tens + 12 ones = 4 tens + 2 ones

5 tens + 19 ones = 6 tens + 9 ones

1 ten +18 ones = 2 tens + 8 ones

Regrouping of Numbers from Tens to Ones:

Let us consider the number 16. We can think of it in two ways.

Regrouping of Numbers from Tens to Ones

1 ten 6 ones can be regrouped as 16 ones.

Now, consider the number 23.

Regrouping Tens to Ones

2 tens 3 ones can be regrouped as 1 ten 13 ones.
