Worksheet on Reflection in y-axis

Practice the questions given in the worksheet on reflection in y-axis. The questions are based on how to find the co-ordinates of the image of a point under reflection in y-axis.

1. Find the reflection of the following in y-axis.

(i) (3, -7)

(ii) (-4, -6)

(iii) (-5, 7)

(iv) (3, 5)

2. Draw a line segment MN where M (3, 4) and N (5, 7). Reflect it in y-axis and find images of M and N. write the co-ordinates of M' and N'.

3. Draw a triangle ABC such that A (2, -3); B (5, 6); C (2, 5) are reflected in the y-axis to get the ∆ A'B'C'. write the co-ordinates of A', B' and C'.

4. Find the reflection of the following point in y-axis.

(i) A (3, 0)

(ii) B (0, 5)

(iii) C (-8, -2)

(iv) D (5, 1)

5. A parallelogram whose vertices are A (-2, 5), B (-5, 2), C (-5, -4), D (-2, -1) is reflected in y-axis to the parallelogram A'B'C'D'. Write the co-ordinates of the vertices of the parallelogram A'B'C'D'.
