Worksheet on Word Problems on Speed Distance and Time

In worksheet on word problems on speed, distance and time we will get different types of problems on calculation of distance when speed is given, relation between speed, distance and time, converting speed from one unit to another unit to metre per second and vice versa. 

I. Solve the following word problems on speed, distance and time:

1. How long will it take to drive 1022 km of 73 km/hr?

2. At what speed should an object move to cover 944 km in 14 hours?

3. How far will a train go in 12 1/2 hours at a speed of 46 km/hour?

4. A train covered the distance from Kolkata To Bangalore in 3 hours at the speed of 80 km/hr. It came back to Kolkata at the speed of 60 km per hour. How long did it take to reach Kolkata?

5. Anthony run at the speed of 200 m per minute to cover the distance of 1 km. Ashley run at the speed of 1 km per hour to cover the same distance. Who covered the distance earlier?

6. What distance will David travel in 8 hours at the speed of 22 m/second?

7. Richard drives his car of a speed of 65 km/hr. What distance will he cover in 54 hours?

8. The speed of a train is 73 km/hr. It covered the distance of 949 km in all. What time did it take to cover the distance?

9. The average speed of a bus is 51 km/hr. How much distance will it cover in 5 1/3 hours? 

10. A bus runs at a speed of 67 km/hr. How much time will it take to Cover 402 km?

11. Jessica drives a car at a speed of 69.5 km/hr. How much time will she take to cover 1390 km?

12. A helicopter flies at a speed of 250 km/hr. How much distance will it cover in 17 1/2 hours?

13. The speed of the cyclist is 56 m/sec. How much time will he take to cover a distance of 7 km?

14. A car travels 198 km in 4 1/2 hours. What is the speed of the car?

15. A train runs at a speed of 102 km/hr. What time will it take to cover a distance of 765 km?

16. A moving object covers 38 m in 2 seconds. How many kilometres will it cover in 2 hours?

17. Richard runs at the speed of 138 m/min. Steven runs at the speed of 8 km/hr. Who runs faster? Calculate their speeds in m/sec.

18. A train takes 3 1/2 hours to reach Kolkata to Asansol. If it runs at a speed of 80 km per hour, what is the distance between Kolkata and Asansol?
