2nd Grade Fractions Worksheet

In 2nd Grade Fractions Worksheet we will solve different types of problems on fractions, one-whole, one-half, one-third, one-fourth, three-fourth or s quarter. In a fraction, it is important that the 'whole' is divided into 'equal' parts.

I. One-half:

When we divide anything between two equal parts, then each part is called a half.

(i) Take a piece of paper.

(ii) Fold it carefully, so that both the ends meet.

(iii) Now, open it. You will see a faint line in the middle of it.

(iv) Half is written as \(\frac{1}{2}\)(one-half)

II: One-third:

When a figure is divided into three equal parts, then each part is called one-third.

Divided into Three Equal Parts

This strip of paper is divided into three equal parts.

One-third (\(\frac{1}{3}\)) of this rectangle is shaded.

One-third of this rectangle is shaded

III. One-fourth or Quarter:

When we divide a shape into four equal parts, then each part is called one-fourth or a quarter of it.

This is a paper. (One whole)

Now, fold it again like this: Open your paper.

We fold this paper into two equal halves.

You will see the paper is divided into four parts.

Each of this part is called a quarter or one-fourth (\(\frac{1}{4}\))

1. Colour half (\(\frac{1}{2}\)) of each shape given below:

Colour Half of Each Shape

2. Colour one-third (\(\frac{1}{3}\)) of each shape given below:

Colour One-third of Each Shape

3. Colour one-fourth (\(\frac{1}{4}\)) of each shape given below:

Colour One-fourth of Each Shape

4. Colour three-fourth (\(\frac{3}{4}\)) of each shape given below:

Colour Three-fourth of Each Shape

5. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on Fractions:

Tick (the correct option.

(i)
