Plane Shapes

We will learn Plane and solid shapes.

Place a book on a paper and trace around with the help of your teacher. You get a plane shape. A plane shape is a figure made of straight or curved lines. Some examples of plane shapes are given below.

I. Square:

Corners and Sides of Square


This is a square.

Square has 4 sides and 4 corners.

All the sides of a square are equal.


II. Rectangle:

Corners and Sides of Square

This is a rectangle.

Rectangle has 4 sides and 4 corners.

The opposite sides of a rectangle are equal.


III. Triangle:

Corners and Sides of Square

This is a triangle.

Triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners.

The sides of a triangle may or may not be equal.


IV. Circle:

No Corner and No Side of Circle




This is a circle.

Circle has no straight side and no corner.

It is a figure drawn with curved line.


V. Oval:

Oval

This is an oval.

It looks like an egg.

It has no side and no corner.
