Choose the correct option in place of question mark (?) in the following series:

91, 85, 94, 83, 97, 81, (?), 79.

(a) 98

(b) 105

(c) 100

(d) 120

Solution:

In this series there are two groups of numbers.

91, 94, 97, (?)

and 85, 83, 81, 79.

In the first group add 3 to the numbers;

91 + 3 = 94

94 + 3 = 97

97 + 3 = 100

In the second group subtract 2 from the numbers;

85 – 2 = 83

83 – 2 = 81

81 – 2 = 79

Answer: 100
